Career World 411

Good Mornin'....
In the October article i read three pages about some short topics like....Mom is My Copilot, Lights! Camera! Action!, Passing On the Test, Jacob's Cool Computer Program, Web-Search Woes & The IT Factor. One of the topics really got me thinking, Jacob's Cool Computer Program. Why? Well its interesting in a way cause' it stated that at age 5 he was writing computer programs. I think thats odd, & at age 8 he was taking computers apart & putting them back together. Very unreasonable like & amazing. Now days he repairs old computers & give them to people who don't have computers. Sort of turning ancient things to valuable things. But i like the way he does it, helping his community out & repairing things that aren't valuable to some people. He is one smart kid, tell you that.

Where Do I Go With Biology?

Good Morin'.....
In the article Career World i read a page about biology & how it can relax your curiosity. There are different words that describe a postition on what a biologist does or can do. Its sort of creepy to me cause' i didn't know that there were are sorts of words that goes w/everything you see. For example, if you don't get what i am sayin' here a they are
Genetic Counselors,
Science/Technical Editors,
Environment Lawyers,
Nurses,
Science Teachers,
Pathologists,
Oncologists,
Immunologists,
Industrial Biologists,
Biotechnologists,
Bioinformatics,
Microbiologists,
Natural Resources Specialist,
Wildlife Biologists
& Park Rangers
. Jeez these are the biology's of what goes on in our everyday life & how it becomes easier.

Ecology By: Design

Good Mornin'.....
The article i read today talked about a 28 year old woman named Jenny Hwa who works as a designer in New York City w/three other clothing company as her a training. Hwa is into the environment & all. When she realized that the clothing company she was w/didn't design their clothes w/the environment. Idk but it was something like that. i think its kind of funny designing a clothing line using the environment. But hey look at this way its a good way to, caring for the environment & all. I think its sort if cool & funny.

Creativity? You? Yes!

Good Mornin'.....
I didn't read tis' article yesterday...so i am behind, don't mind my mistake. They say that creativity is important in any company & field. You know people who work in a hospital, agency that advertises & a bank. I don't think i have a sense of creativity in me on a daily basis. But i do have creativity here & there w/my family & mostly w/my homies/friends. Creativity is anything that deals w/how you feel & how you express yourself to people, w/in your job or your everyday lifestyle. Its best to be yourself than someone trying to tell you to by this & that. Express your creativity in anyway you can. Even though its a job, your lifestyle & w/your friends/family. Go beyond what you really feel like, if you do that then people will see how you really are when you step outside the box.

Major-ly Unique

Good Morin'....
The article i read in Career World talked about how you can get a degree or even a major by going to school for food, making toys & caring for animals. Don't you think thats a little weird? I do, because who would go to school for making food. Yeah there are people in school for culinary, but were talking about how someone can grow a farm & produce its goods. Well this is what the article had to offer. It was sort of confusin' & really didn't understand.

What's New, Interview?

Good Morin'....
Everybody goes through an interview, right? You know w/the manger. But have you ever got an interview by other four people? Now days you get interviewed by the manger & four other employer's that are trained to interview people. Employer's are going beyond the Traditional & making it more predictable for people who has had a job before. But for teenagers they are given the Traditional job interview. Here are the different types of interviews..........
A Traditional Interview is face to face & one on one. Still consider the most common type of interview, punctual, eye contact, answering questions clearly, asking questions of your own & be yourself personally. Doing a Traditional job interview is only given when it's your first job.
A Technological Interview
is having your interview over the phone & online. Giving an interview over the phone you need to find a quiet spot, stand up, & have your resume, pen & paper ready. Standing up gives you the chance to speak out loudly, more pronounced & you have a quick thought on what you want to say. Don't think that your chatting online w/the manager for fun, think of it as a face to face interview & you can't use emotions like you do to your friends [lol].
A Panel Interview is sort of like a Traditional interview, but instead of one person deciding, other people's input is included. Also it's to see if you can interact w/ your employee's & other people.
A
Working Interview is when you are at work for a day & your manger or employer sees how well you do than you are hired, that is known for as a job audition. But you don't get paid doing a working interview, plus you need to show up on time.
A Stress Interview is when the manger is rude or repeats the question over & over. But your job is to stay calm, always have a sense of humor & don’t become defensive. Showing that you are stressed out & have a anger problem you have a chance on not getting hired.
A Behavioral/Solution Interview is when you are asked different questions on your behavioral situations. Your anger problems & how you deal w/it & what is expected for you not to overcome the problem.

This was a very, well not very interesting article; it was the truth on how a person will get a job.

C.O.D-Careers On Delivery

Good Morin'....
In the article Career World, i read that havin' a job as a mail carrier. You know havin' a job for the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), deliverin' people's mail or being in a office seperatin' the mail. Different sort of jobs openin' w/in a USPS. I thought it was interestin'. I never know what a person will find interesting about being a person who delvers mail every single day. To me that seems borin' & a waste of time. For some good reason people enjoy havin' a job that implies goin' to house to house. It was some interesting information about havin' a job as a U.S. Postal Service (USPS).

Mapping Your Future

Good Morin'....
In the Article {Career World} i read that mapmaking is like painting a bridge, its faster & more precisely. The High-Tech Tools they use for this mapping is GPS known as {Global Positioning System}, & there is GIS known for {Geographic Information System}. These tools are very helpful when making a map of places they aren't mapped. They say you can map anything anywhere, for example road maps to the globe. History textbooks are being published to companies for making maps for them. Companies like Southeastern Reprographics Inc. {SRI}, produces maps for electric companies. Industries rely on mapmaking as well as other industries or companies. People who are into making a map give a advice on how you can become one, that's if you are interested. They say take many of geography, computer-programming & be good in algebra. Many middle schools & high schools are offering their students the chance to use GIS in science & social studies class.

Making the Grade

Good Morin'
In the article {Career World} i read about about a returning teacher name Zebulun Dinkins, a fifth grade Social Studies teacher. He wants to be a role model, which he is & just released his new rap CD. First day back at work was hard or scary for him bc all the kid's eyes were on him now. Being rap music into his teaching was creative & entertaining. He rapped in class for his students & his students said it was the coolest thing they heard. Time management is the part that surprise the students, like gettin' out of school. He gives out advice for future teachers that is, be passionate & making a difference.

Career World-pg. 4-7

Good Morning....
In the Career World booklet i read stuff like: Early Bird Loses Worm, By the Books, All Work & No Play, Reality TV, Auto Motivated, Ready to Get to Work? & A Fine Mess. They aren't a whole lot of reading to do, it's just in a paragraph or two. I would say All Work & No Play was interesting, because it talks about how the BOSSES enjoy their summer vacation, working. The difference between an employer, employee & a boss is very weird. They say that a boss really don't enjoy their summer vacation 'cause they end up working at the same time. For an employer & employee they enjoy their summer vacation w/out even working. Everything they said about how both an employee & a boss really do on their vacation.

Dear: Journal

Since the French students been here, they been teaching us some stuff about different programs i never knew about. Some of them were hard & easy but they were some i hated & liked. Well for creating our own blog i liked that, photoshop was cool & same time hard. I loved it when we put two different people into one person, it made them look funny. When we did stuff in photoshop i was struggling cause' i really didn't pay attention, but the French students helped me alot, that was beyond awesome. THANK YOU FRENCH STUDENTS!!!!!
